XAT Syllabus 2025

The XAT falls under the purview of XLRI Jamshedpur and includes Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge sections. Although the sections shown above are common among all the XAT exam years, the decision-making section is a rare one offered in the XAT 2025 syllabus. As no topic is excluded from the XAT 2025 syllabus, candidates must obtain sufficient knowledge in each subject, as questions from all sections are included. Exam preparation for the XAT syllabus requires between three and four months, and you should begin preparing in May or June.

The XAT question paper is structured into three parts:
 

Part 1: Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (175 minutes)

Part 2: Mock Keyboard Testing (5 minutes)

Part 3: General Knowledge + Essay Writing (30 minutes)

With 100 questions in multiple-choice format across these subjects, success in the exam hinges on understanding the sections' weightage and practicing accordingly.
 

Section-wise XAT Syllabus 2025

It is critical to understand the topics’ distribution across the XAT syllabus to organize an efficient preparation process. This involves allocating the necessary time and effort to each section and ascertaining the optimal number of questions to address in each section during the exam. XAT Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation Syllabus

The structure of the XAT Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation syllabus for 2025 remains consistent with previous years. Here are the key points:
 

• The Quantitative Aptitude section of XAT is known for its high difficulty level.

• It consists of 28 questions in total.

• Each question carries one mark for a correct answer, while there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response.

• The questions primarily cover topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Data Sufficiency, Time Zone, and Mixed Graphs.

XAT Syllabus for Verbal & Logical Ability

The Verbal Ability syllabus for XAT 2025 will maintain consistency with previous years. Here are the details of the section's composition:
 

• The VA section of XAT 2025 will consist of 26 questions.

• Each question will be worth one mark for a correct answer.

• A penalty of 0.25 marks will be applied for every incorrect response.

• The questions will cover areas such as Reading Comprehension, fill-in-the-blanks, Poems, Analogy, Antonyms, and Para jumbles.
   

XAT Syllabus for Decision Making (DM)

Here are important details regarding the Decision Making section of XAT 2025:

• This section will comprise 22 questions.

• Each question will be worth one mark for a correct response.

• A penalty of 0.25 marks will be imposed for incorrect answers.

• All the questions in this section will be based on real-life situations.

XAT Syllabus for General Knowledge (GK)

General knowledge section: The GK section in XAT 2025 will consist of 25 questions: 

• Each question will carry one mark, and no negative marking will be deducted in this section. 
• Questions in this section will be from domains such as History, Geography, Economy & Business, Current Affairs, Personality & Awards, and Science & Technology. 
• Candidates can exclusively reserve the final month for the GK section as it involves noting down several dates, events, names, and other memory-based items.
