How To Calculate XAT Score?
For all the sections, the score of the candidate is equal to the raw score of the candidate, as one mark is obtained for a right answer, and 0.25 will be deducted for each wrong answer. Moreover, zero marks will be deducted if the question remains unanswered. However, if the candidate skips eight questions consecutively, 0.10 similar marks to the question will be deducted. The upcoming XAT 2024 result follows the below scoring pattern. Therefore, to understand the XAT Scoring concept, the specifications of the marking system are as follows;
XAT Marking Scheme | |
Right answer | +1 mark |
Wrong answer | -0.25 marks |
Unanswered questions | 0 marks |
8 consecutive unanswered questions | -0.10 marks |
What is the XAT Score Calculation Process?
Candidates' scores in all three sections (Verbal Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Aptitude) are added together.
Qualified candidates are ranked based on their total XAT exam scores.
Each candidate's rank is divided by the remaining number of test takers, and the result is multiplied by 100 to determine the XAT percentile score.
What after the XAT 2025 Result?
Following the announcement of the XAT 2025 results, XLRI will release the cut-off percentile for admission to its Business Management (BM), Human Resource Management (HRM), and General Management Program (GMP) courses. Candidates who meet the XAT 2025 cutoff will be eligible for the Personal Interview (PI) and Essay Writing stages. Candidates must fill out a form on the institute's website declaring their interest in the PI round. Shortlisted candidates will subsequently be notified of the PI timeline and procedure via email. The candidate's total performance in XAT 2025, PI, academics, work experience, and other factors will all be considered in the final admission decision.
Candidates with good work experience at the executive or managerial levels are more likely to be accepted into XLRI's MBA programme. The XAT 2025 cut-offs will differ for XLRI MBA BM and MBA HRM. Furthermore, XAT cut-offs will be lower for students from non-engineering backgrounds than for engineering students.
The other MBA colleges that accept XAT scores for admission will undertake their own screening processes. They will also administer PI in conjunction with a group discussion or written ability test. Candidates who wish to apply to colleges other than XLRI must apply independently to their selected colleges.
