XAT Counselling Process

The Selection process for the 2024-2026 batch at XLRI through the XAT 2024 marks a GD and PI typically conducted in February across various cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Jamshedpur, and Bangalore. Several candidates have been shortlisted at the XLRI campus for its MBA-HRM and MBA-BM programs based on their GD/PI’s performance. Selection into XLRI’s PGDM Business Management and PGDM Human Resource Management courses. After the completed XAT, the Selection is based on the candidates’ academic background and work experience, XAT scores, GD, and PI. The following are the high points –

• Around 1 lakh students appear for the XAT to take PGDM in XLRI annually. 

• XAT is accepted by over 800 institutes for admission into their institute for MBA. 

• XLRI shortlists the students for the PI based on their XAT percentile because there is a minimum XAT cut-off for the next day MBA/PGDM batch. 

• Candidates who clear the XAT can individually apply to the various management colleges that accept the XAT score. 

• If the students are shortlisted for XLRI admission then the students have to secure a slot for the PI on the institute website, after updating the form they are offered an interview. 

• The students who don’t update or secure the XLRI-PI within the deadline are not considered for the Interview. If the candidate does not go for the PI round then they also don’t have a chance to have a PGP seat. There are waiting candidates in the queue specified for the PI. Generally, XAT cut-offs vary from 90-95 percentile for HRM, BM.

PI Call Letters for XLRI Admission 2024
 

XLRI will send Personal Interview (PI) invitations to shortlisted candidates via email, who will then need to access the XLRI website to specify their preferred interview city. This process, known as 'updating interview city,' involves the following steps:
 

1. Open the XLRI/XAT website in a new browser window.

2. Navigate to the login section.

3. Enter your ID and password to access your account.

4. Select a suitable time slot and update your preferred interview city choice.
 

Additionally, candidates should ensure they have the following documents (both original and photocopies) ready for the GD/PI round:
 

• XAT 2024 scorecard

• XAT answer key or OMR sheet

• Class 10 certificate

• Class 12 certificate

• Graduation certificate

• Character certificate from the last attended institute

• Work experience certificate or letter

• Certificate of participation in extracurricular activities (if applicable)

• Caste certificate (if applicable)

• Persons with Disabilities (PWD) certificate (if applicable)
