Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level management entrance exam conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur for admission into MBA programs all over the country. The exam is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in various examination centers in nearly 70 cities of India. The test comprises five sections- Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, General Knowledge, and Analytical Essay Writing. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. A bonus for aspirants is that there is no specific time limit for individual sections.
To be eligible for appearing in XAT 2025, interested candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% in any stream from a recognized university/college or should be in the final year of their undergraduate degree. Admissions to different colleges will depend on candidates’ performance in the exam followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.

What is the XAT Exam?
Xavier Aptitude Test, commonly known as XAT, is a national-level entrance test for admission to MBA/ PGDM programs under the guidance of XLRI, Jamshedpur. Including XLRI and its 10 associated colleges members of XAMI, more than 1,000 B-Schools recognize XAT marks as an entrance eligibility. There are 100 MCQs from the sections of Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data interpretation, and general knowledge on the examination. The typical sectional percentiles of the PGDM-BM program in XLRI range from about 95 for males to 92 for females.

XAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The new eligibility criteria and academic requirements for XAT candidates are as follows. Candidates must:
Have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, the length of which must be at least three years or an equivalent degree in any discipline.
The candidate’s final year of a graduate degree program or the candidate’s mark results must have been announced.
There are no specific minimum percentage or CGPA requirements for undergraduate degrees; any successful graduation is accepted.
Working professionals or applicants with advanced degrees such as CA/CS may sit for the examination.
XAT 2025 Registration
XAT 2025 registration is expected to start in July 2024 or August 2024 and interested candidates need to register for XAT 2025 on the link: XAT ONLINE. The registration window will close by the end of the final week of November 2024. XLRI will also announce the schedule for XAT 2025 in July 2024. The XAT 2025 examination will take place on the first Sunday of January 2025. Candidates can use the exam scores for applying for MBA/PGDM at XLRI-Jamshedpur, XAMI institutes, and 1000 plus other B-schools accepting XAT scores.
XAT 2025 Registration Process
XAT 2025 registration can be done by following this link or simply opening it in a new window: Link. In the ‘Registration’ section, you would need to fill in your personal information: name, telephone number, email ID, password of your choice, and captcha code.
Once submitted successfully, a unique XAT ID and registration link will be sent to your registered email ID. Click on the link provided in the email to verify your registration. In case you don’t receive the confirmation email for any reason within 24 hours, please make sure to check your spam/junk folder in your mailbox. You can also drop a mail to the admis@xlri.ac.in or call 1800-209-0835. Helpline is available between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, IST. Expect a response within 48 hours – excluding holidays.
If you find your registration status verified, move towards submitting the XAT Application Form 2025. Please visit the XAT 2025 homepage, click on the ‘login’ button, and fill in the email ID, and password. You will get a window identifying the XAT 2025 application form. Fill in the mandatory prerequisites with correctness and have a double-check before ‘submit.’
XAT Exam Fees
The following table outlines the application fees for the XAT exam. Candidates need to understand that the application fee for XAT 2025 is non-refundable. Additionally, applicants intending to apply specifically to XLRI Jamshedpur are required to pay an additional INR 200 for college registration.

Documents Required for XAT 2025 Registration
For references and verification to properly fill in the XAT 2025 application form, the following documents must be available. Other than the signature and photograph, no document other than those based on the entries also needs to be uploaded. All these documents except the photograph and signature are needed only for proper entry in the XAT application form.

XAT 2025 Registration Important Points
XAT 2025 candidates should follow these guidelines while filling out the application form:
- Opt for XAT exam center allocation: A maximum of three cities can be selected. Once chosen, candidates will be unable to change them.
- Form 2025 can only be submitted after payment of the fee. Although the fee does not have to be paid the same day the form is filled, it has to be done before the deadline, otherwise the form will be rejected.
- After successful payment of XAT exam fees, an e-receipt will be issued. Failure to produce the e-receipt indicates that the payment failed. In that case, the candidates must log in again and start the payment process once more.
- The e-receipt and the completed XAT application form must be printed. If an e-receipt is not produced, it means that the online payment transaction failed.
- The website allows the applicant to download/print the application form containing the fee details option after payment.
- Candidates filling out the XAT 2025 application form should use Internet Explorer Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome.
- A completed application form should be accompanied by a confirmation page, which must be printed out for future reference.
