The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2025 is now open for applications, inviting aspiring engineers to apply to the Vellore Institute of Technology. The computer-based exam offers admission to top engineering colleges, including VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai. To participate, candidates must pass Class 12 with a minimum aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Candidates born on or after the first day of July 2002 are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2025. Prospective students must carefully review eligibility criteria to avoid disqualification.


 

The VITEEE 2025 exam will offer admission to the Vellore Institute of Technology at the Vellore and Chennai campuses. The application process is online and must be completed by March 31, 2025. The VITEEE 2025 exam is scheduled for April 2025. Top participating colleges ensure a high standard of education, making this an important opportunity for aspiring engineers. The release of admit cards will be in the second week of April, and the declaration of results will be in May  2025.

What is VITEEE?


The VITs – Vellore Institute of Technology – VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE)  all-encompassing examination is organized and conducted by the VIT each year, and it acts as a student doorway to an undergraduate engineering program throughout conjunction institutions. This serves as the entrance test for many engineering undergraduate programs, with about two lakh students enrolling each year. The students who surpass the cutoff established by VIT, as mentioned above qualification will be admitted to a B.Tech program on VIT campus – Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, as well as Amravati. In 2018, it was claimed that VIT had expanded the admission test’s B.Des eligibility – Industrial Design – to VITEEE.

VITEEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria 


 

The VITEEE 2025 eligibility has been summarized to allow the applicants to clearly understand the various conditions and inevitable conditions applying this will disqualify any applicants.

 

Nationality: A resident Indian, Non-Resident Indian, PIO Holder. 

Age Limit: Candidates born on or after the first day of July 2002 are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2025. 


The date of birth, as recorded in the High School Certificate, shall be taken into account when deciding the age of the candidate. This certificate should be produced during counselling, failing which the applicant shall be disqualified. Qualifying Examination 

 

Candidates aspiring to write VITEEE 2025 should have either completed or are appearing in 2025 in the following qualifying examinations. 

 

i. The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination was conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), and The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi. 

 ii. Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board/ University. 

iii. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of IB Office, Geneva 

iv. General Certificate Education GCE examination (London/ Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced A level. 

v. Candidates who have completed Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply as per VIT norms. Note: Eligibility for the qualifying examination is in the class 12th examination. The Candidate who would appear for the VITEEE in 2025 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and 

 

Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate)

 

The average marks obtained program-wise for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology will be calculated. The minimum average mark claimed for the various categories is 50%. 

 

a) SC/ST Community candidates 

 

b) Candidates belonging to J & K/Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. They should produce the nativity certificate only in the format referred to as Annexure-A during the counselling, failing which they will not be considered for the ranking. If the candidates do not produce the report at the time of admission, the management's decision regarding the admission will be final. For Indian Nationals/ NRI/ PIO cardholders, the appearance in VITEEE- 2025 is mandatory, and admission will be solely based on the score obtained.

 

In case VITEEE is cancelled due to natural calamities, the candidates will be admitted to the B.Tech course on the basis of the higher secondary mark. JEE Main- 2025 marks – to be published for admission procedure of selection shall be implemented.

Subject Eligibility Criteria

 

A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) in case of general category candidates and 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology in case of SC/ST & students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and in case of ST top our SC/ST policy will be followed or Jammu & Kashmir respectively. A separate certificate has to be provided for this purpose. 

 

The candidate should produce all the original mark statements during counselling (the original will be verified and returned). Admission will be given only if the candidate meets this eligibility requirement, irrespective of the rank at which the candidate has been admitted. Bib-stream programs in B.Tech. are a bridge to interdisciplinary applications in pure sciences that meet the rapidly expanding requirements of molecular and cellular biology, fuelled by recent discoveries in genomics and proteomics with specificity.
