NMAT Cut off 2024, Previous Years' Cut off (2023, 2022, 2021): Check College & Course-wise Cutoff Score
Business schools that accept NMAT scores for admission establish cutoff scores/ranks for each admission session. The NMAT 2024 cutoff identifies the minimal score/rank required to close admissions. The NMAT cutoff ranks/marks are used by participating institutes to make admission decisions for their MBA programs.
Every year, this cutoff is decided based on numerous factors, including the total number of applicants, the number of eligible candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, the availability of seats, and more. Candidates who meet or exceed the NMAT 2024 cutoff are eligible for admission to these institutions. However, NMAT colleges may or may not reveal the NMAT cutoff for MBA applications.
For additional information on the NMAT 2024 cut-off, including determining variables, an examination of past NMAT cut-off patterns, and the NMAT by GMAC selection procedure, please see the following sections of the article.

NMAT Selection Process 2024
Different institutes follow varying selection processes for MBA programs, but some common elements are included across all selection processes.
Common Elements in the Selection Process
- Group Discussion (GD) and Case Discussion (CD): Candidates are divided into groups of 7 to 10 for the GD round.
- Personal Interview (PI): Following the GD round, institutes conduct a PI round.
- Written Ability Test (WAT): Some institutes also include a WAT round.
NMAT Cut Off Composite Merit List Preparation
Each element in the selection process carries a specific weightage, determining a candidate's eligibility for various MBA and PGDM courses. The weightage for each element in the selection process is given below.
NMAT Selection Process 2024 Element | Weightage |
NMAT by GMAC Score | 70% |
Group Discussion (GD) | 10% |
Personal Interview (PI) | 10% |
Academic Performance | 5% |
Work Experience | 5% |
Stage-wise NMAT Selection Rounds
The first step in applying for an MBA program at NMIMS or other NMAT-accepting universities is to take the NMAT exam. After passing the exam, candidates are shortlisted for the next step of the selection process. Check the many selection rounds stated below:
- First, candidates appear for the NMAT by GMAC exam.
- Students must pass the minimum NMAT cutoff marks in order to be shortlisted for subsequent selection rounds.
NMAT 2024 Selection Process
The NMAT selection process for admission consists of a Group Discussion (GD) or Case Discussion (CD), a Personal Interview (PI), and a Written Ability Test. These rounds are conducted individually by NMAT member institutes in accordance with their admission schedules.
Group Discussion (GD):
The Group Discussion (GD) step of the NMAT selection process divides candidates into groups of 7-10 individuals. Each group is then assigned a topic to discuss.
or
Case Discussion:
Some institutes use Case Discussion instead of Group Discussion. If students need to appear for the Case Discussion round, they must first understand that the CD round is equivalent to preparing for a GD round. However, there are some differences. In the Case Discussion round, a systematic discussion of any specific topic will be presented as a case. Students will need to write at least 2-3 meaningful entries in 15 minutes.
Personal Interview:
The Personal Interview stage of the NMAT selection process follows the GD round. During this round, members of the B-School's internal selection committee and independent experts in the field interview the candidate. The panel interviews the test taker about management, current affairs, and global events.
Written Ability Test:
A lot of NMAT-accepting colleges conduct a Written Ability Test in addition to the GD and PI rounds during the NMAT selection process. The Written Ability Test will assess candidates' writing and communication skills. The B-School's selection committee also assigns a topic for the written test, which should take 15-20 minutes.
The following is a list of characteristics that NMAT considers while finalizing candidate selections for 2024 admissions to the management program:
- NMAT 2024 Score – The candidate's performance in the NMAT entrance exam.
- Personal Interview (PI) – An assessment of communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall personality.
- Group Discussion (GD) – Evaluation of analytical thinking, teamwork, and articulation of ideas.
- Academic Performance – Past academic records, including scores from previous educational qualifications.
- Work Experience – Consideration of relevant professional experience, if applicable.
- Academic & Gender Diversity – Encouraging various cohorts by considering academic background and gender representation.
