The National Institute of Technology (NIT Jamshedpur) has announced the NIMCET 2025 exam. This exam is for students who want to study MCA (Master of Computer Applications) at NITs. Registration for the exam has started. Candidates can apply from March 2025 to April 2025. The NIMCET 2025 exam will be online on June 2025. The exam will have Mathematics, Computer Awareness, Logical Reasoning, and English questions.

What is NIMCET?
The NIMCET is a national level Common Entrance Test for admission to the MCA programme at its various National Institutes of Technology (NITs) nationwide. Rankings in the NIMCET MCA exam are used to determine their specific seats across various NIT campuses. Every year, about 25,000 students appear for the NIMCET to compete for about 805 seats across nine nationwide NITs. Apart from NITs, several universities and other institutions use NIMCET scores to admit students to their MCA programs.

NIMCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Only Indian Citizens can apply for these posts.
At least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale is required in the Bachelor's exam (for SC/ST, 55%marks or 6.0 on a 10-point scale).
The Bachelor's degree must be a minimum of three years full-time. It should be in fields such as BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BIT, with Mathematics/Statistics or an equivalent subject as one of the subjects from a recognised university.
Also, one must obtain 55% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale for the SC/ST bachelor's degree.
BE/BTech or equivalent in an appropriate discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.00/10.00 CGPA from a recognised university. Also, students with an M.Sc/ MS/MCA degree in an appropriate discipline shall be eligible for this programme.
Applicants must have appeared for the final year of the qualifying examination, as candidates will be eligible to apply for NIMCET 2025.
Under Graduate - Any BSc/ BSc (Hons)/ BCA/ BIT - 3Yr Degree in Computer Science Or - 3 years Diploma in Computer Application from Open Universities provided that the University is approved by UGC/AICTE and Distance Education Council of Govt of India.
The percentage of marks/C G P A shall be calculated by considering the marks/grade points on all the subjects, including languages and optional and additional subjects the applicant studies for the qualifying degree. The authority will consider the aggregate of marks/grade points secured in all subjects for all the years of the examination and will use it to determine NIMCET eligibility.
