MICAT 2024 shortlisting process

  • It is important to state that the MICAT Psychometric Test is a qualifier which implies that this is the first test that all candidates have to pass in order to be considered for the GE/PI rounds.

  • After the Psychometric Test, the performance in Verbal Ability VA, Quantitative Ability QA, General Awareness GA, Divergent, and Convergent Thinking DCT, and Section B is taken into consideration.

  • Those candidates who meet the relative performance criteria and also qualify on the minimum cut-off in Section B are further evaluated on their performance in Section C or the Descriptive Test, and the candidates who qualify based on the relative performance in a particular section are considered for shortlisting for GE and PI.

  • It should be mentioned that the shortlist would be prepared only based on either the MICAT I held on December 2023 and/or MICAT II held in January 2024, or the better of the two scores is considered if a candidate has given both the exams for admission to the 2024-26 batch.

  • About 1/10th of the total number of candidates who appear in the two MICATs will be shortlisted based on the Total MICAT 2024 scaled score for GE/PI.
