Breakdown of The Admission Process
Step 1: Candidates must take the CAT/XAT/GMAT exam.
Step 2: Those who have appeared for any of the aforementioned exams are eligible for MICAT. The MICAT evaluates candidates in the following sections:
Section A: Psychometric Test
Section B: Descriptive Test
Section C: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General Awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking
Step 3: GE & PI - Candidates qualifying for CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT I & II must participate in both Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI).
Shortlist Criteria for GE & PI
Section A of MICAT (Psychometric Test) serves as a qualifier.
Those who qualify for the Psychometric Test are assessed based on their relative performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT, considering a minimum cut-off.
Candidates who clear Section A based on CAT/XAT/GMAT performance are then evaluated on their performance in Section B of MICAT.
Subsequently, candidates who qualify for Section B are assessed based on their performance in Section C.
Candidates who successfully clear sections A, B, and C are invited for GE/PI at locations including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
MICAT 2024 Selection Criteria
Applicants without a CAT/XAT/GMAT score cannot take part in the selection process. For the PGDM course, MICA uses a combination of the best two scores and allows taking any of the exam phases, or both of them. Candidates who pass the prerequisites are then selected for the last stage of the process: Group Exercise and Personal Interview.
The following table outlines the weighting assigned to various parameters for MICA admissions:
Parameters | Weightage |
CAT/XAT/GMAT scores | 20% |
MICAT | 30% |
Group Exercise | 20% |
Personal Interview | 30% |
