Admission to IIT JAM 2024 programs is based on the choices filled in the Admission Form by the candidates. Generally, there are four rounds of admission, with the possibility of additional rounds if seats remain vacant. When an offer is made in any round, candidates must log in to the official website within the specified time frame and choose one of the following options:

1. Accept and Freeze
2. Accept with Upgrade
3. Reject and Quit

Candidates need to log in to the portal to check their admission status. For those offered a seat in the first round, logging into the Candidate Portal and selecting one of the three options within the given timeframe is mandatory. If vacancies remain post the first round, a Second Admission List will be generated. Candidates who chose "Accept with Upgrade" in the first round must log in again to check their updated seat allocation. Those offered a seat in the second list must choose one of the options before the deadline.
