HPU MAT 2025 Selection/Counselling Process

 

Himachal Pradesh University Business School will release the cut-off for HPU MAT 2025 which further screens the candidates to participate in other selection rounds that are Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Dates of these selection processes will be announced later for the subsidized/unsubsidized category separately. Final admission to Himachal Pradesh University Business School will be offered on combined performance in HPU MAT 2025, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview by the candidates.

Merit list for HPU MAT 2025, thus, enabling candidates to take admissions under subsidized and non-subsidized categories Admissions to the HPU Business School MBA program shall be based on a written test, academic record, group discussion, and personal interview. Allotment of shortlisted candidates into the programs is provisional and shall become final only after confirmation of the admission fee. If not deposited within the given deadline, the seat will then be offered to the next eligible candidate.

Seats Reservation at HPU Business School

 

HPUBS provides a total of 120 seats for MBA courses, with 60 seats allocated for subsidized and 60 seats for non-subsidized categories. Please refer to the table below for the seat reservation details across various categories within the subsidized and unsubsidized categories:

Note: The total number of seats in the General Category is 25 percent which will be open to all candidates and the remaining 75 percent will be reserved for those candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from any one or all four Universities of Himachal Pradesh including H.P. University, as laid down under guidelines/instructions of AICTE/UGC/MCI Government.of India from time to time, irrespective of where they have pursued their qualifying examination provided it is recognized as equivalent to Himachal Pradesh University’s qualifying examination.

 

The reserved seats include:

 

  • 5% for outstanding sportsmen/women.

  • 5% for outstanding cultural activists.

  • 5% for persons with disabilities.

  • One supernumerary seat for serving/retired defence service personnel who meet the minimum eligibility criteria.

  • Two supernumerary seats for single girl children of Himachali domicile, requiring an Executive Magistrate's certificate.

  • Two supernumerary seats for J&K domicile Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu families (Non-migrants) residing in the Kashmir valley.

  • Three supernumerary seats for the wards of HP University employees in the Non-Subsidized Category.
