The Himachal Pradesh University Business School conducts the state-level entrance examination called the Himachal Pradesh University MBA Aptitude Test (HPU MAT) for admission into MBA courses offered by the university. The exam is conducted in offline mode through pen-paper format. The test consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions from 4 sections- English, Quantitative Aptitude (Data Interpretation & Arithmetic Comprehension), Reasoning (Critical Reasoning & General Intelligence), and General Awareness (Business Environment & Current Affairs).

To be eligible for appearing in HPU MAT 2025, candidates should possess a graduate degree in any stream with a minimum aggregate of 50% of marks from a recognized university/college. Students in their final year of undergraduate degree are also eligible to appear provided they submit their passing certificate by the time of admission to HPU. The maximum age limit is 26 years for male candidates and 28 years for female candidates.

The last date for registration for HPU MAT 2025 was 25 May 2025. The registration commenced on 23 April 2025. The exam was conducted on 6 June 2025. The results will tentatively be announced on 18 June 2025.

What is HPU MAT?

Himachal Pradesh University Business School conducts the Himachal Pradesh University MBA Aptitude Test, also known as HPU MAT which is a state-level entrance exam for candidates seeking admission to their MBA programmes. It is the state-level examination conducted by NAAC accredited 'A' grade university to offer admission into MBA courses. The HPU MAT exam score counts for only 90 marks in the final admission round of the Group Discussion/ Personal Interview process and further shortlisting is done to decide which candidates who are eligible on all parameters including their past academic track record can proceed with the second round of selection. HPU MAT is a pen-paper-based test of 2-hour duration consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from four sections.
