IMDR Pune Assessment Mechanism
The evaluation approach is integral to the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework implemented through Exam Reforms. Course assessments each semester are organised into two categories based on course type:
Assessment in each semester consists of:
- Continuous Evaluation
- Term-End Examination
Typically, a subject's evaluation includes a 60-mark written exam to assess subject comprehension, along with 40 internal marks.
- Continuous Evaluation
Student performance is consistently evaluated throughout the semester through various methods, including classroom discussions, case studies, project work, presentations, assignments, quizzes, class tests, online assessments, and other suitable formats. This evaluation accounts for 40% of the total assessment and aligns with the course outcomes as specified in the OBE System. The assessment methods are chosen based on subject requirements and student skill enhancement needs.
- Term-End Examination
The term-end examination serves as the final assessment for each course at the semester’s conclusion. It may be administered online or in a traditional pen-and-paper format, with the mode decided by the Director in collaboration with faculty and the academic committee. Each exam is mapped to the course outcomes under the OBE System and has a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
